| This project uses a classmate’s thesis presentation
materials — text and images — as a starting point for
demonstrating my thesis methodology. Lana Cavar’s thesis topic
is about using content and context to create form. What our thesis
topics share is an interest in context: for her, it is a given, for
me, it is created. By using her slide images and text, I designed
a book in which juxtaposition is created simply by how a piece of
paper is folded to make a signature. On one side of the letter-size
sheet of paper, a slide image from her presentation is printed; on
the reverse, the slide’s corresponding text is placed. Each
sheet of paper is folded twice to create a signature. These signatures
then are saddle-stitched. Fall 2005 |
